HISTORY of CUF
CHURCHES UNITED FELLOWSHIP was born in response to a crisis that occurred in 2004.
During the early hours of 26th December 2004, Sri Lanka and India were hit by a deadly Tsunami and was badly affected as thousands of souls were lost. Meanwhile in London, Sri Lankan and Indian pastors came together in unity to pray and offer helping hands on 3rd January 2005. This brought about the birth of CHURCHES UNITED FELLOWSHIP. Since then, the pastors have gathered once in every three months to continue this fellowship. The second prayer meeting was held at the Fairlight Christian Centre in Tooting Broadway, London.
Most of the pastors hosted the prayer meetings in their respective churches and the fellowship continued to grow.
On Sunday the 21st September 2008, about 40 churches in the UK gathered at a conference at Fairfield Halls, Croydon and 2500 people came together in unity. This was the first step in uniting the churches from Scotland to Southampton and from Norwich to Northern Ireland which turned out to a success.
In 2012, churches gathered again in Fairfield Halls for another conference. This time, Mini-Olympics was held among the churches in East London, following by a similar event in 2017 at North London.
As more pastors were added and the fellowship started growing, a leadership team was established in January 2019.
